Bamboo colonial case with carved inscriptions and anthropomorphic figures. Peru

Original Bamboo case with carvings depicting characters from Cuzco and inscriptions, all inside horizontal strips separated by geometrical decoration. The lid shows a parade of men, one of whom is carrying a flag. The first strip a Franciscan is preaching to some Indians and an inscription says “Biba Jesús murex la culpa” (long live to Jesus, death to guilt). In the second there are two Franciscans, one with a flag and another with a drum, a musician, a knight with a Jerking and a lady; the inscriptions give the names of “Cuzco”and of some nearby towns such as “Pauca”. The last one shows a gentleman hunter, an Indian shooting with a bow, a lion, a monkey, flowers and a bird.
